Professional Photoshoot with Sherissa

I guess I'm going to have to do all of this for each baby...!!  We compiled all the shots from maternity, new born and 'walking' into a book - it came out beautifully.
We did this shoot in our home, and I actually love this over studio shots.  It means a lot to be in my own environment, and at least David can see where he grew up in time.  I don't think we'll be here for ever.  So it will bring back memories.
M, you were wondering what to wear -I just wore what I do every day.  I did buy David a new shirt.  Now, I wouldn't like to make this obvious, but since you were obsessed with 'what you don't have going on over there'.... check out my white legs!

The Birthday Party

If there was a prize for being a closet blogger - I would get it. To be honest I don't think much life has happened between now and November last year. I feel like life is in slow motion. I know it is a phase, but it seems to be never-ending.

So after a couple of promptings (and because I finally have some time un-interrupted - D's at a playgroup) I decided it couldn't be that hard to jot out a blog - but about what? The first thing that comes to mind is David's 1st Birthday Party. I made it easy (for me). 8 adults, at a restaurant where we had a table in the garden, no mess and fuss. My sister brought her 3 kids, so that made up the kid-quota. But I did actually spend a lot more than I thought possible for a birthday one isn't hosting at home. Balloons, flowers, table decor, cake ingredients, icing. I only decided on the cake theme about 2 days before when I found these cute green caterpillars on their own mini chocolate cake, at the chocolate shop in Benmore. I knew it had to be chocolate - and the rest was a blank. Flower Spot in Woodmead does the helium balloons. They only just squeezed into the car and I couldn't see a thing out the back. We got home exhausted, all the noise is too much. There were lots of other birthdays and gatherings there too. Yes, we're boring, and I feel about eighty years old too
